Unreleased Edison Lateral Recordings

Compiled By Diamond Cut Productions

Purple Line

Diamond Cut Productions releases collections of popular music recordings taken directly from electrically recorded test pressings made in the studios of Thomas A. Edison, Inc. during its final years of recording. Many of these Edison recordings, made during the years 1928 and 1929 and stored ever since in the vaults of the Edison National Historic Site, have gone unreleased until now. They have been carefully restored using Diamond Cut's computer program called DCart (Diamond Cut audio restoration tools). The program minimizes clicks, pops, crackle and hiss, while maintaining the fidelity of the original recordings.

Unreleased Edison Laterals

It was a time of prohibition, wild parties, Bootlegging, Flappers, and Jazz. It was a period just prior to the crash of an overly optimistic stock market. The songs recorded by Edison consist of popular music of the time, including "Hot Dance" tunes, Fox Trots, Comedies, Ballads, etc. Many of the artists on these recordings went on to become famous Jazz and Big Band names later in the 30's and 40's.
