Toasting a CD
Step Four
Finishing Touches

After the processing, the wave form looks much more detailed. Listening to it will reveal that it indeed sounds much different! Depending on the condition of the original source, the results can be quite dramatic.

With worn or dirty records, however, this process may actually impart a "tinny" sound. This is especially noticeable when cleaning up records recorded using acoustic vs. electronic means.

The next step is to remove the lead-in portion by selecting it again, and hitting the delete key, again making sure you choose no music. I will also trim the end as well.

Then save the file. I assign it a file name composed of the record's own matrix numbers, prefaced with the three letter "label" identifier. This makes it much easier to keep track of the files.
